I have been promising a list of the new features that are being included in Version 3 which is under development. The list that follows are what I consider to be the major changes, there are a host of smaller changes that have not been included.
- Slower speed – Version 2 could only slow to 25%, this new version will slow down to 5%.
- Opening without converting – When opening, version 2 always converted the file and this takes some time. In Version 3, this is no longer a requirement so opening a file occurs quickly.
- Ability to rotate videos – On occasion, especially with video are filmed on mobile devices, they don’t have the correct orientation. Version 3 allows you to change the orientation.
- Video Quality Enhancements – Version 3 will contains some basic quality enhancement functions such as adjusting lightness, darkness, focus, sharpness.
- Split Screen playback – Version 3 allows for split screen playback allowing two videos to be played on the screen at the same time
- Full Screen mode – As requested Version 3 will allow full screen playback
- Contiguous loops – Version 3 no longer requires a small space between two consecutive loops. The end of one loop can be the beginning of the next loop.
- Loop/Markers DB Search – Loops and markers are inventoried when placed on the video and can be easily searched to find specific locations within a video.
- Speed Trainer – This is the function that has been in SS. It allows you to pick and beginning and ending tempo or speed, and a percentage change, and as it loops the speed will automatically change according to your settings.
- Loop Bypass – The ability to temporarily disable or turn off one or all loops is part of Version 3
- Sniffer removed – As we have explained several times the sniffer module will be removed from Version 3.
- Adjust sync – Version 3 will allow you to unlock the audio or video track and move or adjust it to correct sync problems between audio and video
- Text Drawing and Shapes – Version 3 will allow you to create basic shapes and/or text and place this over part of the video for labeling or annotating purposes.
- Timeline zooming, control and navigation – The timeline zooming and navigation has been significantly improved.

I am an enthusiastic user of Song Surgeon, Download Surgeon, and Video Surgeon. It is my hope that Version 3 of Video Surgeon will include a GUI Resizing feature, such as what you have included in Song Surgeon. Currently the menu headings in Video Surgeon on my monitor are so tiny that I can barely read them.

Hi! John. I did contact you a few weeks ago regarding the problems you mentioned with Apple Mac! And you mentioned the new product you have coming out in March, version 3 for windows. I would like to purchase Version 3 for windows. But how can I save the ones I already have for my Apple Mac! which is 3, 4, and 5, could there be a way to transfer them to Windows as well as?
